Dr Wendy King

MBBS BMedSci FRCA

As a doctor, Wendy has always been fascinated by medical aesthetics: where science meets artistry, balance and proportion. She has never understood how the big brands could deliver a ‘one size fits all’ solution to suit everyone. We all have different facial shapes, skin types, concerns, and indeed ideals; so to her it makes more sense to offer a tailored, individual approach.

Wendy believes fundamentally in natural looking results. She always aims to work with normal anatomy to enhance your best features, to make your skin glow, giving you back that inner confidence. She takes pride in offering an artistic and personalised approach to aesthetic medicine; offering injectables, as well as skin consultations, scientifically backed results-driven treatments and bespoke home-care routines that fit around you, your budget and your lifestyle.

Having worked for over 20 years in the NHS, she still believes passionately in what it can offer, but also wants to bring her expertise to you - free from the constraints of a system where sometimes, productivity and finances rule. To have more time to offer holistic care, secure in the knowledge that your treatment is delivered to the highest of standards.

More about Dr Wendy

Wendy qualified as a doctor from St Mary's Hospital Medical School in 1998, and having specialised in anaesthesia, working in a number of hospitals throughout the south of England and Western Australia, took up her Consultant Anaesthetist position in 2012. She continues to love this role, still working part of the week in the NHS. Here, she manages elective and emergency cases in the operating theatre, and so is well placed to manage any - albeit unlikely - adverse event in clinic.

One of her specialist interests is maxillo-facial surgery and it is from here that her aesthetic practice developed. She completed her training at Harley Street's prestigious Medical and Aesthetic Training Academy (MATA) and is a licensed to deliver Botox and Dermal Fillers. She has undertaken advanced training with many industry leaders: Dr Tapan Patel, Dr Kate Goldie, Dr Raj Thethi, as well as Artistry in Aesthetics with Dr Stephen Harris – internationally renowned for natural-looking results. She is proud to be registered with Saveface, the aesthetic industry’s register of UK approved practitioners; and the Complications in Medical Aesthetics Collaborative (CMAC) - raising standards and improving safety in the industry.

Her interest in dermatology has evolved from a desire to help her patients understand what they can do for themselves to improve skin health. Not everyone wants (or needs) injectable treatments, and glowing skin undoubtedly boosts your confidence. She has trained with both award-winning WOW Facial, and the innovative pHformula Skin Academy to become an Advanced Skin Specialist.

Wendy has two daughters whom she encourages to be comfortable in their own skin. She feels strongly that many of the problems we see at The Lodsworth Clinic are the result of sun damage, so by teaching the next generation to look after their skin, to wear sun protection every day, and to be kind to themselves, we can hope they might be better equipped to deal with the stressors of modern life.

When not at work she is happiest out in the fresh air, walking her dogs on the South Downs. She aspires to keep fit doing regular yoga and pilates, and loves cooking as well as playing the piano (pretty badly it has to be said!) Given the choice she’d be travelling in far flung corners of the world… but that’s the next adventure!
