FAQs

  • The IllumiFacial is a 4-step process incorporating: Deep cleanse, Tri-Fruit Acid Peel to resurface skin texture and decongest pores. Then the Lynton IPL to stimulate collagen and target discolouration, finishing with specialist stem cell serums to soothe, regenerate and protect.

  • You will always undergo a full assessment before any treatment, but the IllumiFacial can dramatically improve skin tone and appearance for most skin types. In particular, it can effectively reduce acne and fine lines, hydrate and tighten skin, giving a soft, smooth radiant look.

  • Yes! It is important you:

    • Don’t get a suntan / use a sunbed / fake tan in the preceding 4-6 weeks

    • Don’t have a recent wax / facial peel / resurfacing treatment

    • Be aware some medication may make you more sensitive to light

    • Inform us if you suffer with keloid scarring / any other skin condition or skin cancer

    • Be aware that some darker skin types may be unsuitable for this treatment.

  • After a full consultation and skin assessment, we always perform a test treatment on a small area of skin. This is important so we can determine the treatment parameters appropriate to your hair and skin type, and to ensure there are no adverse side effects before you embark on full treatment.

  • Everyone has different pain thresholds! The peel may tingle, and the IPL treatment is only mildly uncomfortable, it feels like an elastic band being snapped briefly against your skin.

  • We would normally recommend a course of 6 sessions every 2-3 weeks to achieve desired results. Sessions will usually last about 45 minutes.

  • No, IPL is a non-ablative treatment, which means the energy is targeted towards the lower layers of the skin (dermis) without damaging the top layers (epidermis). You may find your skin is slightly red for a few hours (rarely days) after treatment, and pigment may initially get darker before it resolves, but there is no significant downtime.
