Safety
Your safety is paramount, in everything we do - be it medicine, within the aesthetic world, or while supporting sporting fixtures.
Find out more about our approach to safety, here.
Currently, aesthetic practice in the UK is unregulated, and unfortunately there are many practitioners who do not have the medical expertise to recognise and manage allergic reactions, nor rare complications. Your practitioner should be accredited by SaveFace, the UK’s aesthetic regulatory body ensuring the most rigorous safety standards.
Wendy delivers all our treatments and has over 20 years experience as a doctor, not only managing acute situations within the NHS, but also teaching many other Doctors and Healthcare Professionals on Advanced Life Support courses.
Botox®
Botox® has a robust safety profile having been used to treat millions of patients worldwide. There are different brands of Botulinum toxin, but at The Lodsworth Clinic we only use Botox®, which has a well-established safety profile.
For the past 30 years, Botulinum toxin has been used to treat a multitude of medical conditions where muscle overactivity is problematic, such as squint, spastic movement disorders, as well as hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and migraines. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first approved its use for cosmetic treatment of glabellar (frown) lines in 2002, and its clinical applications continue to expand.
Dermal Fillers
When it comes to dermal fillers, we use CE and FDA approved, biodegradable dermal fillers made of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. Although expensive, these have the most robust safety profile, with extensive use worldwide over many years.
Some medical conditions can put you at higher risk of complications. We always undertake a full assessment before proceeding with any non-essential medical treatment; your safety is our priority and if you ever have any concern, we will be at your side supporting you.
At The Lodsworth Clinic you are in the hands of trained medical professionals; so in the unlikely event of an issue or complication, you couldn’t be safer
Sports
Sports safety
We take safety outside the clinic very seriously too. Our other interest is in the sporting arena, where we provide medical cover for rugby and racing fixtures.
